A checklist site, not a dating app
Date Safely Guide is an independent 18+ editorial project. We write the taps for canceling Tinder Gold, the tells for AI catfish, and the price traps that show up after a trial.
There is no newsroom here and no app to download. Pages exist because people search for a specific mess: a Tinder Gold charge after they thought they cancelled, a match who will not video chat, a “crypto mentor” who showed up in Bumble DMs.
How a page gets written
We start from the official help article — Tinder, Apple, Google Play, Bumble, Hinge — then walk the actual Settings and Play Store paths. Scam pages pull from current public reporting (Norton’s 2026 intimacy report, ESET’s dating-app safety notes, law-enforcement warnings on romance and pig-butchering scams) and from patterns that keep showing up in those writeups: off-app rush, money, no live video, investment pitch.
We are not affiliated with Match Group, Bumble Inc., Badoo, or any of the partner dating sites we link out to. Brand names are used to describe products people already have on their phones.

What we will not do
- Guarantee a refund. Apple and Google decide. We describe the window that historically works.
- Call an app “safe.” Safety is a set of habits plus the app’s tools. Verification badges are not proof.
- Age-gate the whole site. Copy assumes 18+. Partner offers are adult dating. Do not use this site if you are under 18.
Questions about a page: treat the official help center as the source of truth if an app changes its Settings labels overnight. We date-stamp updates at the top of each guide.
